PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: 

This training program will prepare students for employment as Emergency Medical Technicians to function at the pre-hospital (basic) level and treat various medical/trauma conditions. The content includes, but is not limited to, patient assessment; air­way management; cardiac arrest; external and internal bleeding and shock; traumatic injuries; fractures; dislocations; sprains; poisoning; stroke; alcohol and drug abuse; emergency childbirth and burns.

 

OCCUPATION DESCRIPTION:

Assess injuries, administer emergency medical care, and extricate trapped individuals. Transport injured or sick persons to medical facilities.
